On the occasion of World Environment Day (5th June), the Three Cultures Foundation is bringing together the voices of individuals and groups concerned about the conservation of our planet in this film festival.
Cinema is a powerful cultural vehicle capable of shaping consciences and transforming social perceptions of reality. Throughout history, the seventh art has shown an unparalleled ability to bring nature closer to the viewer and highlight urgent ecological crises.

🎬 DOÑANA's CALLING

Synopsis: Three traditional trades (horse breeders, ox drivers/carters, and marshland dairy farmers) that have shaped the history and landscape of the Aljarafe region and the Seville Doñana have formed the backbone of the documentary “Oficios de Doñana”. Narrated in the first person by their protagonists, this documentary explores the history of the region and how these trades have adapted to the social and economic changes of 21st-century society.

Documentary. Javier Ross and Álvaro Saavedra, Spain, 2025, 40 min.
Synopsis: Southern Spain is once again looking to the mines with hope and trepidation. The reopening of a mining site that was the scene of one of Europe's biggest ecological disasters has divided the region: between the promise of employment and the fear of contamination. On-site interviews, images of the mines, visible waste, and a diversity of testimonies – for and against – illustrate an ongoing conflict.
