Winter in Europe, Polo Menárguez, Spain, 2017, 70 minutes.
Synopsis
In the centre of Belgrade, Serbia, thousands of passengers daily walk through the train station to travel to different destinations. Behind the tracks, in the old abandoned barracks that used to make up the old train station, hundreds of Afghan refugees live in sub-zero temperatures, next to toxic bonfires and apocalyptic landscapes. Asif, Said and Ahbar accompany us in an impossible everyday life marked by one hope: to cross the border into Hungary.
