The 2017-2018 edition of the Master in International Relations organised by the International University of Andalusia in collaboration with the Pablo de Olavide University and the Tres Culturas Foundation will start next month of November 2017.
Présentation
The Masters in International Relations are present in the most prestigious universities, both European and American, where each one adapts the content of the Masters according to the interests of the region where it is located, with certain elements common to all these universities.
Le master is semi-présentielwith a part in class, consisting of modules I to IV, held from November to March, for which attendance is compulsory and taken into account for the final grade of these modules; the virtual part also takes place during these months, and corresponds to module V of the master, which is taught remotely.
The Master in International Relations is a multidisciplinary master's degree that integrates knowledge of international relations and the study of international society from a historical, economic, legal and socio-cultural perspective, where international relations develop.
At present, only two Andalusian universities, the University of Grenada and the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville, offer the Diplomas in Political Sciences and Administration, for which the Master will be an ideal complement to training in international fields.
Graduates of degrees such as Political and Administrative Sciences, Human Sciences, Journalism, Law, Economics, Sociology or Environmental Sciences may apply. It is also open to professionals from different sectors: consular representatives in Andalusia, journalists or officials of the regional, central or local administration.
Objectifs
The Master in International Relations aims to offer training to graduates in a variety of academic fields, with a focus on the Mediterranean, and in particular on the Arab world, Latin America and the European Union, the three major references to Andalusia's international projection. This will be preceded by a general section in which the basic aspects of international relations will be addressed, including their history, sociology, politics, geopolitics, legal order and jurisprudence, economics and general current state, which is particularly important in a changing and at the same time confused world such as the debuts of the 21st century.
In order to promote the study of International Relations and to provide elements for reflection and understanding of the international context, the premier objectif is to offer a prestigious and useful Master for all graduates who wish to develop a professional and research career with an international profile or in relation to foreign action.
On the other hand, the strengthening of international institutions as global policy actors, the globalisation of the economy, the creation of supranational blocs and the developing ethical independence make it increasingly necessary to have knowledge of international relations, regional and national institutions, as well as specialised NGOs. The second objective is to promote the study of International Relations as a multidisciplinary reference, which is becoming very important in today's complex landscape where globalisation and the heterogeneous nature of the economy, politics and culture are the main actors.
Le third objective is to offer comprehensive training on current international relations in three major areas: The Mediterranean and the Arab World, Latin America, and the European Union, addressing subjects such as international relations, development cooperation, the evolution of integration processes in Europe and Latin America, as well as the emerging projection of infra-ethical institutions abroad, particularly in the region of Andalusia.
