As part of the programme of activities of the 'Sepharad in Three Cultures' cycle, the Foundation is organising a concert by the group Memorias de Sefarad, a group made up of three musicians with a rich and extensive background in different styles, always in search of the enhancement and recovery of the Sephardic musical legacy and the medieval Hispanic tradition.
Conceived as a didactic concert in which the audience can learn about the context in which each of the works was born, Memories of Sepharad proposes a musical journey through different historical periods. A journey full of harmonies and colours from classical music, flamenco, Balkan folklore, or Egyptian and Andalusian music. The repertoire is made up of themes composed by Daniel Martínez Martín himself, as well as other works compiled from the Sephardic tradition.
Memorias de Sefarad is made up of Daniel Martínez Martín (guitar, bouzouki, arrangements and composition), Alba Bermejo (vocals), and Juan Cabrera (viola). The group has a long track record in events such as the International Sephardic Festival of Cordoba and the Festival Tres Culturas de Frigiliana, and has performed in institutions such as the Alcazaba in Malaga, the Carmen Thyssen Museum and the Casa de Sefarad in Cordoba.
