The Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with the Cine Fértil association, is organising a LatinArab Festival Exhibition in Seville from 15 to 18 May, with the aim of highlighting the interest in the meeting of filmmakers from different continents and their enriching visions from the different cultures they come from.
The LatinArab Festival is the Latin American event of reference in South-South cultural and audiovisual cooperation that brings together Latin American and Arab cinematographies and industries in a unique setting on the continent. It encourages the reunion with those peoples and their stories that question our prejudices, realities and introspectively approach us from another place; with new questions and different perspectives for new challenges.
In its six years of existence, this festival has become a milestone in film relations between Arab and Latin American countries: audience building, joint projects, co-productions and new markets to generate more quality work are proof of the projection of this event.
The LatinArab Festival is organised by 'Cine Fértil', a team specialised in the promotion and dissemination of Arab and Latin American cinema from Argentina to Latin America within the framework of regional programmes and strategies that promote cultural diversity. Created in 2003, the organisation Cine Fértil has created a space where Latin Americans can access cultural, social and artistic expressions of the Arab world through film. Through film shows, weeks and festivals, it generates tools for the mutual knowledge of both societies and promotes the development of common strategies for audiovisual production.
During these days, the Fundación Tres Culturas becomes a meeting point for Latin and Arab cinema, demonstrating that there are no borders when there is a desire for dialogue. A unique event in our country and essential for audiences who love new stories in the cultural panorama of Andalusia.
