The Fundación Tres Culturas participates as a partner in the PLURAL PLUS, Youth Video Festival, a joint initiative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) that invites young people from around the world to submit original and creative videos focusing on the themes of migration, diversity and social inclusion.
Within the framework of this initiative, the Foundation has created the Three Cultures Prize (with an endowment of USD 500), which recognises young people as powerful agents of positive social change in a world often characterised by intolerance and cultural and religious divisions.
In this year's edition, the award has been given to the short film The two sides of the coinby Jorge Orellana, Abdelouadoud Abboute, Mohamed Lamine, Abderrahim Belghalia, Mohamed El Azzouzi, Pedro Marcos Carrillo, Inma Diéguez, Elena Cuberos, Joaquín Agüero and Carmen Pastor, with the special support of the Engloba Association in Granada.
The aim of this audiovisual is to show the stories of several former foster children, when they become part of a programme for adults after leaving a child protection centre.
The video aims to eliminate erroneous stereotypes about these children, showing their more positive side and how they work intensively in different areas such as emancipation, coexistence, autonomy, training... in order to achieve their socio-labour integration in the host country.
The awards ceremony will take place virtually on Friday 4 December from 16.00 h. (Spanish time) and can be followed live at the following link: https://pluralplus.unaoc.org/2020awards/
We congratulate the young people who have made this video and hope that their example will help our society to advance in the necessary values of dialogue and coexistence.
