A visit to our library is therefore a journey through the cultural heritage of the regions that bathe the waters of this sea, both their historical legacy and heritage, as well as their position in today's geopolitics and their contribution to the contemporary literary and intellectual corpus. Geographically, its subject matter also extends across the African and Asian continents to encompass the area known as the Middle East and its areas of influence. And this is where its uniqueness lies. The researcher specialising in this field, the restless dilettante or the inquisitive neophyte can find in our library a unique resource to broaden their knowledge or satisfy their curiosity.
Our catalogue of publications is divided into sections dedicated to specific topics such as Euro-Mediterranean Relations; Arab World; Interreligious Dialogue; Hebrew World; Christianity; Judaism; Islam; Human Rights; Women and Gender; Migration; Israeli-Palestinian Conflict; Cooperation; Art; Travel... We provide our users with tools such as specialised dictionaries and encyclopaedias, as well as an extensive repertoire of films and music from the region.
A visit to our library can also serve to discover the works that the Fundación Tres Culturas has been publishing for more than ten years in the fields of essays, art, comics, magazines... and which have earned us a prominent place in the field of specialised publications in this geographical area. Our Narrative, Poetry and Comic sections boast a selection of the best ancient and contemporary works from the Mediterranean and the Near East for those interested in extending their literary repertoire beyond the "Western canon"...
The Fundación Tres Culturas is launching this new section with the aim of offering some suggestions of outstanding publications in the catalogue of the Fatima Mernissi Library, which we hope will serve to enrich our users' journey through the history and cultures of the Mediterranean.
We dedicate this issue to the cuisines of the Mediterranean, a gastronomy as diverse as its cultures.
