Podcasting and Interculturality Workshop

The Podcasting currently constitutes a dynamic and versatile tool for the development of oral competence, digital storytelling, and the construction of cultural identity. Within this framework, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation is organising this free workshop with the aim of offering a training space that reinforces its institutional values: the fomenting dialogue, the coexistence and the Intercultural understanding.

The objectives of the activity are:

1. Promoting interculturality and teamwork in a real production environment.
2. Enhance oral expression and fluency through practice in front of the microphone.
3. Explore Mediterranean culture through contemporary narrative formats.
4. Incorporate tools Storytelling that allow for creative and meaningful learning.

The main objective is for participants to gain a mastery of the podcast creation process, transforming theoretical content into a quality audio product, ready for distribution. In doing so, the Foundation reaffirms its commitment to initiatives that promote cultural expression, active participation, and dialogue as a way to strengthen ties between the diverse shores of the Mediterranean.

The workshop is intended for young people, students, associations and organisations working with migrants or in the fields of training and interculturality, among others, and will be structured into two sessions of 3 hours each, combining theory (research, format, script, etc.) and practice (recording techniques, sound design, etc.).

The added value of this initiative lies not only in the tangible result, a podcast that can be used as promotional or educational material by the participating associations, but also in the training in fundamental skills in the current digital communication ecosystem.

José Carlos Cabrera Medina, director of the intercultural radio programme ‘Ruta Mediterránea’ on Radio Andalucía Información of Canal Sur and the digital magazine LaContemporanea.es, and a researcher for the contemporary Arab studies group at the University of Granada, will be in charge of leading the workshop.
