The Tres Cultura Foundation is organising the workshop Literature to the beatThe aim of this initiative, which is being developed in different educational centres in the province of Seville, is to highlight the intangible heritage of flamenco and to strengthen the cultural links between Andalusia and the Mediterranean, using literature and song as instruments for coexistence.
The project, which will bring literature to young people in a close and playful way, will be divided into two stages:
1. Workshops in educational centres. During the month of November, the writing part of this workshop will be worked on, placing special interest in the creation and work with poetry, specifically with octosyllabic verses. The aim is to create texts that contain the themes (in this case the proposal is interculturality, diversity, the other, etc.), which will then be used as a basis for the creation of poems. ), which will then be used to transform them into lyrics sung in a flamenco style. Among the themes that will be worked on in the classroom are: the relationship between flamenco and literature; creative writing workshop; poetry, the octosyllable; rhythm, meter; similarities with Moroccan music.
2. Celebration of an intercultural literary zambombá. As an end to the activity and thanks to the texts created in the previous sessions, they will be given rhythm and voice, and as they would say in the flamenco world, they will rightfully become pure flamenco. A session to develop rhythms and rhyme to be held on 18 December in the Foundation's Central Patio.
This workshop is part of the Arabic language week to be held at the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo.
