The Fundación Tres Culturas is collaborating with the International University of Andalusia (UNIA) and the Spanish Network for Sustainable Development in the 1st Conference on Sustainability and Cultural Institutions, to be held on 4 and 5 April 2017 in the Auditorium of the Casa Encendida in Madrid.
Cultural institutions have a fundamental role in the dissemination of sustainable development, but also in its achievement, through a praxis that takes into consideration the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainability. The Spanish Network for Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the International University of Andalusia, proposes this pioneering course in our country, to raise awareness and mobilise the culture sector around this new paradigm, as well as to offer the tools to understand the new international context (marked by the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreements) and the responsibility of culture as a transmitter and disseminator of values.
The aim of the conference is to introduce participants to the basic aspects of the new United Nations agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by all countries by 2030. It will address how to integrate this agenda in the cultural institutions of our country and will propose practical cases for its implementation in the cultural sector.
