The Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with Galaxia de Gutenberg, is organising the presentation of the work of one of the great contemporary authors, the Greek-born Swede Theodor Kallifatides, to discuss his latest novel, A new country on the other side of my window, and on his work and message as a whole.
This will be Kallifatides' first visit to the Tres Culturas headquarters, the Hassan II pavilion in Seville. Although the Swedish author has collaborated on several occasions with this Foundation, as he was one of the guest authors at the first edition of the literary festival Letras Mediterráneas, which we held in Granada in May 2022.
After that first contact, the quality of his narrative and his humanity made him a must in our library. For this reason, he was the protagonist of the reading club Three with books for young peoplewhich we developed virtually during the months of January and February and which focussed on his work Another life to live (Gutenberg Galaxy). The activity culminated in an online meeting with the author himself.
Theodor Kallifatideswriter and filmmaker, became one of the literary phenomena with his book Another life to livepublished by Galaxia Gutenberg, winner of the Cálamo "Extraordinary 2019" Prize. He has published more than forty books of fiction, essays and poetry translated into several languages, for which he has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the National Greek Award for Testimonial Literature for The past is not a dream (2013).
In this presentation, the author will talk to one of the leading cultural journalists in our country, Xavi Ayén, current editor of the culture supplement of The vanguard.
Simultaneous translation from English into Spanish will be provided.
