2024 marks the third meeting of Back to the Roots, a cultural initiative that encourages the children of Saint-Louis living all over the world to return and invest in their city and to participate in its reconstruction and development. It also aims to promote the destination of Saint-Louis to people of African descent and to all those people and organisations from different places who are interested in the project.
The Back to the Roots Seville 2024 meeting will be held on 16 and 17 February in the Centre for Cultural Initiatives of the University of Seville (CICUS) and its programme includes talks and round tables, exhibitions, dance, cinema, live music and many other Afro cultural activities. The Foundation is collaborating by organising one of the concerts on the programme, that of the Thioune Brothers, on Saturday 17 February, starting at 21.00.
Back to the Roots will be attended by people from different countries of the world in order to strengthen exchanges, collaborations and alliances.
This activity is subsidised by the Junta de Andalucía, within the framework of the subsidy granted by the Consejería de la Presidencia, Interior, Diálogo Social y Simplificación Administrativa (Regional Ministry of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification).
