Tres Culturas participates in the Anna Lindh Foundation Forum on Cultural Diplomacy

Details

From 18 to 21 June 2025, the city of Tirana will host a new edition of the Anna Lindh Foundation Forum, the main Euro-Mediterranean meeting on intercultural dialogue.

Within this framework, our colleague Antonio Chaves Rendón, director of the Area of Educational Action, Intercultural Dialogue and Spanish-Moroccan Relations of the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, will be the moderator of the panel entitled Langues, récits et territoires : vers une diplomatie culturelle du quotidien - une approche enracinée dans les pratiques communautaires locales, which will take place on 18 June at 15:45h at the Tirana International Hotel.

This panel proposes an alternative and profoundly transformative vision of cultural diplomacy: to move from institutional models, often distant and abstract, to a "diplomacy of proximity" that is born from the daily contact between people, from the languages spoken in the neighbourhoods, from the shared intangible heritage and from the cultural practices that spring from the roots of the territories.

Our colleague Catalina Bejarano, Director of European Programmes and Euro-Mediterranean Relations, will also participate in the panel on 18 June at the same time and location. Intercultural dialogue as a means to foster cooperation, understanding and peaceful coexistence in the Euro-Med region and with the activity Postal Free. Concecting cultures through emotion.

The panel will examine the role of intercultural dialogue as an ally in building trust, reducing tensions and fostering genuine cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The objectives of the activity will be to foster intercultural dialogue and empathy among young people from the Euro-Mediterranean space, to promote mutual understanding through self-expression, creativity and affective writing, and to establish sustainable links between participants through a symbolic and meaningful experience.

The Fundación Tres Culturas thus reaffirms its commitment to an open, diverse and profoundly human vision of culture. At a time when polarising discourses are making a strong comeback, initiatives such as this panel are more necessary than ever to promote diplomacy that goes beyond the symbolic and transforms realities.
