The Fundación Tres Culturas is taking part in the 30th edition of the Salon International de l'Édition et du Livre in Rabat with a presentation at the Spain stand on 24 April at 12 noon.
The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, the Instituto Cervantes in Rabat and the Spanish Embassy in Morocco, are organising the presentation of the book To my dear Abdelaziz... from your Conchita. Letters between Spaniards and Moroccans during colonial Morocco (Icaria, 2020) by Josep Mateo Dieste and Nieves Muriel García, as part of the 30th edition of the International Publishing and Book Fair in Rabat.
The event, moderated by the Moroccan academic Oumama Aouad, will examine this work, which is the result of rigorous research into unpublished correspondence between Spanish women and Moroccan men during the period of the Protectorate (1936-1956). The letters reveal intimate relationships that defied colonial conventions and shed new light on the affective and social history shared between the two peoples.
This proposal is part of the commitment of the Fundación Tres Culturas to give visibility to Spanish authors with strong links to Morocco, thus strengthening the cultural and literary ties between the two countries.
The presentation will be simultaneously translated into French and Spanish.
