The Fundación Tres Culturas is participating in the 'I International Congress on Regional Cross-border Policy Andalusia - Morocco - Portugal. Cooperation, Investment and Development', which will take place on 24, 25 and 26 June at the Andalucía Tech International Centre of the University of Seville.
This conference raises the main economic, social and territorial challenges arising from our situation and our membership of the European Union. Borders, regions and cities take on a new meaning in the guidelines for territorial cohesion, taking into account the transnational nature of projects and spatial planning.
The debate launched by the European Union argues that cohesion policy should cover the entire territory of the EU, as well as its cross-border territories, but not simply as a solidarity mechanism, but rather to promote the endogenous development potential of European regions and their neighbouring regions. Territorial cooperation is a fundamental element in achieving the objective of cohesion policy, where it is necessary to connect by means of infrastructures that facilitate access to services for citizens in the most backward territories with the most developed centres.
The Fundación Tres Culturas is participating in this congress by organising the round table dedicated to Cross-Border Cultural Cooperation, in which projects such as Flamenco de Orilla a Orilla, of the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco; the Rimar project of the Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage; or the CUDEMA2 project, led by the Fundación Tres Culturas, will be discussed.
