New technologies are significantly and transversally changing social, political and economic relations, and even to a large extent certain cultural manifestations, in MENA societies. With very young societies (around 60% are under 30 years of age), natively digitally connected, increasingly urban, in contexts of great tension and in which women are seeking new spaces where they can fulfil themselves, new technologies offer tools for creativity, hyper-connectivity among themselves and with the world, possibilities to undertake professional projects, to train without censorship, to access new sources of financing.... and to be able to be who they want to be. On the other hand, the management of these same technologies and connectivity allows authoritarian regimes and reactionary movements (Islamic State....) to have greater impact, the capacity to disseminate their ideologies and eventual control over information and its users. Thus, these new technologies are shaping new realities in all areas of daily life in these societies in turmoil, and are an increasingly determining factor in the present and especially in the future of these countries.
