On 3 June, the Fundación Tres Culturas launched the activities of its new European project, INTREPIDA plus (Internationalisation of Businesswomen from Spain and Portugal towards Integration, Development and Partnerships. Second phase), an initiative led by this institution with European funding from the INTERREG V A Spain-Portugal programme (POCTEP) and which represents the continuation and improvement of the INTREPIDA project, which is still in force.
After several online calls developed during the summer, this programme will reach one of its high points in October with a calendar full of proposals that show, on the one hand, the many affinities and connections between Portugal and Spain, and on the other hand, the enormous potential of women entrepreneurs in both territories.
The main event in this programme is the 1st INTREPIDA plus forum in Seville, which will bring together businesswomen from Spain and Portugal on 21 and 22 October, while maintaining all the security precautions imposed by the current situation. For this reason, work will be carried out halfway between on-site and online interventions, but without renouncing an experience that allows the exchange of ideas, the creation of synergies and learning between businesswomen from the Euroregion (Andalusia, Algarve and Alentejo), including spaces for networking, talks on sales and marketplaces, mindfulness and other activities. As a highlight, it is worth mentioning the intervention of Ângela Lin, head of business development of Tmall Global of Alibaba Group for Spain and Portugal.
But until this forum is held, the Fundación Tres Culturas has a full calendar of INTREPIDA events, such as the Portuguese film series that opens on 6 October, with the screening of A portuguesa, a film directed by Rita Azevedo in 2018. On subsequent Tuesdays in October, a selection of short films and the feature films Terra Franca and Jogo de damas will be screened.
Portuguese music will be heard in the voice of Irma (8 October), an actress and singer born in Lisbon, considered an emerging figure on the Portuguese music scene, while literature will feature Dulce María Cardoso, defined as "the most important writer of her generation" (Público), who will present her most ambitious work, La vida normal (Seix Barral), on the 28th.
In addition, the exhibition Sentir la Tierra, curated by Cristina Ataide and featuring works by the Portuguese artist Graça Pereira Coutinho, who combines different means of expression such as painting, sculpture, photography and installations, will open on 15 October. Both will meet with a small group of people for a very personal guided tour.
This intense programme offers two more events, the first on 14 October, just a day before the International Day of Rural Women, an event that we will celebrate with a workshop on wool dyeing in San Nicolás del Puerto, led by Estela Ribeiro and her artisan weaving company Ovelha Mãe. Finally, an original event has been organised to bring us closer to a world unknown to many people: the observation of the universe. This is a unique opportunity offered by Planetario Albireo, run from Granada by Malena Sánchez, an entrepreneur whose vocation for scientific dissemination led her to launch this business initiative a decade ago. The Astromares Association will be present at this event, as an example of active citizen participation.
The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo is the main beneficiary of the INTREPIDA plus project, together with the following partners from Spain and Portugal: Diputación de Huelva, Mancomunidad Desarrollo Condado de Huelva, Núcleo de Empresarios de la Región de Portalegre (NERPOR), Núcleo Empresarial de la Región de Évora (NERE) and Municipality of Faro.
