Dariya or Moroccan Arabic
From 20 March to 26 June 2026
Features
Registration period open.
Once again, the Fundación Tres Culturas is offering its courses in Dariya, the dialectal variety of Arabic spoken in Morocco. As usual, in addition to the basic level, a second, more advanced level, Dariya II, will be offered for those students who have passed the basic course or have previous knowledge.
For those learners who have no prior knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic or Moroccan Arabic, no previous training is necessary. The course itself begins with an introduction to Modern Standard Arabic, which forms the common basis of all dialects. In this initial phase, the learner will be taught to recognise the alphabet, read, write, vocalise, and develop essential phonetics.
Once these fundamentals have been acquired, the study progressively advances to Darija, incorporating its specific expressions, structures, and vocabulary. The entire process is oriented from the outset towards the practical learning of the Moroccan dialect.
The manual used is B chuiya b chuiya b chuiyaThe Dariya 1 and Dariya 2 levels, a widely recognised reference material, structure the learning in two progressive levels, always with a communicative and practical approach, oriented towards real-life situations in Morocco.
The recordings of the sessions are available for revision and reinforcement throughout the term.
The courses will be quarterly, running from October to December 2025 and from March to May 2026.
