With Seville in phase one of de-escalation and almost a step away from phase two, the Fundación Tres Culturas is already working on the calendar of events that will mark the return to what has been called the "new normal", in which it will reopen its doors to the public to offer various activities, while maintaining all the safety and prevention measures established by the health authorities.
Meanwhile, the Foundation continues to offer a varied programme that has been running since the state of alarm was declared under the name of 'Three Cultures with You', a range of cultural, educational and informative activities of a non-presential nature that arose with the aim of making the confinement that our society was facing at that time more bearable, and which have been disseminated through the institution's website: www.tresculturas.org
From then until now, in little more than two months, more than 60 proposals of various kinds have been made available to the public, with a high cultural content, but without forgetting the educational and informative component. Thus, for example, the traditional Film Tuesdays have been maintained, in which films have been shared for on-line viewing such as The Alhambra at stake, Counter tide, Missed stepsa selection from the mk2 Short Fest y Gurumbé. Songs from your black memorythanks to the important involvement of the filmmakers, who have also recorded messages for the spectators from their homes. During this month, the film screenings have been grouped in the cycle 'Morocco-Spain: Common Views', organised in collaboration with the African Film Festival FCAT.
Another of the strong points of the cultural offer was music, with live concerts by artists such as the Moroccans Jihane Bougrine and Saki, who performed a repertoire created expressly for the Tres Culturas public from their respective homes. On other occasions, musicians such as Paco Soto or the members of the group Hamid Ajbar have recorded a message for the public encouraging them to enjoy concerts shared by the Foundation.
Literature is also very present in this programme, with two differentiated bets: on the one hand, the periodical publication of reviews on new publications in the first quarter of 2020, and on the other, the launch of the reading club 'Three with books at home', which has already dealt with the work The sky according to Googleby Marta Carnicero, and where the book is currently being analysed. They have always spoken for usby Najat El Hachmi, a writer who will hold an Instagram meeting with her readers on the 27th at 6pm.
Also very interesting are all the proposals for families, such as the puzzles inspired by the architecture of the Tres Culturas headquarters, the Hassan II Pavilion, or the mosaic colouring sheets based on the geometric lines of the Andalusian designs, which the Foundation shares courtesy of Manuel Martínez Vela, lecturer at the March session of Cátedra al-Andalus, which unfortunately could not be held due to the state of alarm.
Two virtual exhibitions in 360 degrees, a new section on Arabic and Hebrew language called 'El rincón del rawi', recordings of the series 'Great capitals of the medieval Islamic world', a children's play in Arabic, an online course on intercultural mediation, recipes of Moroccan gastronomy, mini-videos of the series 'Debates around the Mediterranean', the presentation of the new issue of the journal Quaderns de la MediterrániaThree conferences on Ramadan and another on Andalusian music are some of the activities that complete this programme.
One of the most popular activities of all the proposals put forward was the consultancy service for immigrants on issues related to the state of alarm, aimed at resolving legal, employment and administrative doubts related to this exceptional situation. A public service initiative that resolved around a hundred questions, many of them in the sessions broadcast live on the Tres Culturas Facebook channel on 26 March, 2 and 8 April, with more than 16,400 views.
Among the topics that raised the most queries were those related to labour law issues, especially those related to dismissals resulting from the declaration of the State of Alarm and the ERTES provided for in Decree 8/2020 of 17 March, as well as the requirements for receiving unemployment benefits. Other issues focused on administrative formalities and the telematic completion of procedures or the demand for information on obtaining documentation, the processing of aliens' applications, renewals and delegations of permits.
Several queries regarding Moroccan university students who did not know how to proceed with regard to confinement or the doubts of some businessmen interested in transferring business from Morocco to Spain have also been resolved.
In short, a very intense activity that has kept the Three Cultures Foundation close to its public and open to new users, with its sights set on that long-awaited moment when the cinema projectors will be switched on again, the loudspeakers will vibrate with the best music and culture will return to every corridor of the Hassan II Pavilion.
