On 30 and 31 January 2017, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation will participate in the meeting to be held at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice to launch the first phase of the 'Crossing the Mediterranean: towards Investment and Integration' (MIM).
The European Master Crossing the Mediterranean: towards Investment and Integration (MIM) is a two-year programme offered jointly by the universities: Ca' Foscari University Venice (Italy), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and University Paul-Valéry Montpellier (France). This master's degree has 15 years of experience and offers a programme of excellence focused on the Mediterranean as a place for exchanges and integration. The course is structured in a total of 120 ECTSwith a degree recognised by the three participating countries (Master di I livello, Magister, M2).
The three universities that teach it non-simultaneously have the category of excellence in each of their respective fields: languages, history, literature, literature, religion, and gender studies in the southern Mediterranean basin, in the case of the Cà Foscari University; communication, human development, multimedia, regional integration and migrations in the Euro-Mediterranean area, in the case of the Autonomous University of Barcelona; and finally, applied sciences, education, international law, immigration policies, migration studies and decentralised cooperation in the case of the Paul-Valèry University of Montpellier.
This master's degree provides students with tools geared towards research and training, together with the acquisition of high-level skills in the field of mediation and cooperation. In this way, it meets the demand for qualified professionals and researchers capable of understanding and controlling the diverse situations that arise in a heterogeneous and complex reality such as the Mediterranean.
The relevance of its programme is reflected in the high employability rate of its students. Among the members associated with this master's degree are: University of Strasbourg, Moulay Ismail University (Meknes), University of Sousse, Anna Lindh Foundation, French Research Centre of Jerusalem, the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs, European Institute of the Mediterranean and the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation. These institutions contribute to the creation of a very favourable framework for complementary training to that which students receive at the universities where the master's degree is taught.
