The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation has participated as a partner in the project. Generation 2020: Europe's Future in the Eyes of Young People belonging to the Erasmus+ programme and held in the Portuguese town of Guarda from 7 to 9 May 2016. This meeting brought together more than 30 young people from Spain and Portugal who held various meetings with political leaders, social entities and entrepreneurs from both countries to address issues related to employment, sustainable development and youth participation.
The programme addressed workspaces for the creation of self-employment proposals that would help young people to stay in their usual place of residence, preventing the depopulation of certain regions. This project led by the Freguesia de Guarda involved other entities such as the School of Hotel Management and other social and political entities. The activities included the commemoration of Europe Day through joint cooperation and the performance of the Ode to Joy by schoolchildren.
This initiative has greatly contributed to the sharing of experiences and exchange of know-how as well as to the strengthening of synergies between associations and institutions in the two countries.
