The Fundación Tres Culturas in collaboration with Casa India and on the occasion of the anniversary of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Spain and India offers a show of traditional Indian dance and music. The show will take place on Wednesday, 1 June at 20.30h at the Foundation's headquarters.
The history of Odissi, one of India's most beautiful dances, begins thousands of years ago in the temples located in the Eastern region of India. The Indian Classical Dances evolved as a spiritual expression of devotion and surrender.
Its complexity makes it captivating through its rhythmic and melodic movements, full of beauty and meaning. One of the essences of Odissi as a dance style lies in its sculptural quality.
The artist Madhavi Mudgal She has mastered the lyrical dance 'Odissi' through the delicacy of her 'abhinaya' (the expressive aspect of the dance), her musical knowledge and her sense of aesthetics. The dancer has won several awards for her contribution to Indian art. Accompanied by her dance troupe, she performs various choreographies of her own composition.
