The Fundación Tres Culturas, through the European project INTREPIDA, fosters contact and synergies between businesswomen from Spain and Portugal that allow medium and long term collaborations.
This is the case of the textile artisan Estela Melo, founder of the firm Ovelha Mae, who collaborates with the Sevillian firm Nunonina, created by Maria Barona and Monica Huang, in the design of shawls and small blankets made of wool felt.
Quality handcrafted pieces that will be exported to Mexico, where the ABAX architects' studio wants to present these products for the shops of high-end hotels and other exclusive firms.
Estela Melo met María Barona and Mónica Huang thanks to a month-long artist residency in Seville, offered by the Fundación Tres Culturas in the framework of the European project CARPET (Craft Art and People Together) of the Creative Europe programme.
The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo is the lead beneficiary of the INTREPIDA project, together with the following partners from Spain and Portugal: Fundación Universidad Empresa de la Provincia de Cádiz (FUECA), Diputación de Huelva, REGIOTIC, Asociación de Empresarios de la Región de Portoalegre (NERPOR) and Núcleo Empresarial de la Región de Évora (NERE). The INTREPIDA project has European funding from the INTERREG V A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) programme.
