The Fundación Tres Culturas and the IES Matilde Casanova will meet on 28 November at the Fatima Mernissi Library for a virtual meeting with the Palestinian author Sonia Nimr.

The Fundación Tres Culturas and IES Matilde Casanova have been collaborating for several years to encourage reading and promote values through a youth reading club. Within the framework of the Three with books for young people y Three with moving bookslast year, the students worked on Little Brother (Blackie Books, 2021), by Amets Arzallus and Ibrahima Balde, a work full of humanity, memory and hope.

This year, students are reading Extraordinary journeys through mysterious lands (Icaria, 2016), by Sonia Nimr, Palestinian writer and storyteller. Nimr is a member of the academic board of the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at Birzeit University (Palestine), where she is also an assistant professor.

The novel, in addition to offering an exciting adventure, allows students to work with themes of interculturality, diversity and values of coexistence, promoting dialogue and empathy towards other cultures.

The author will participate via videoconference, allowing students to share their impressions of the book with her, ask her questions and discuss the themes of the book directly with her. In addition, participants will be able to enjoy a bread tasting offered by La Esencia.
