Coinciding with the month of Ramadan, and specifically with the celebration of the 'Lailatu Al Qadr' or 'Night of Destiny' (in which the moment of the revelation of the prophet Muhammad by the Archangel Gabriel is remembered), the Three Cultures Foundation held a symbolic act of fraternity between monotheistic religions.
In addition to the director of the Tres Culturas Foundation, Concha de Santa Ana, the meeting was attended by the Secretary General for External Action of the Junta de Andalucía, Enrique Millo Rocher, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Seville, Cherif Cherkaoui, and the director of the Mas Foundation, Luis Miguel Pons, an institution that donated a donation of food products to be distributed among disadvantaged families.
Isaac Benzaquén, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain; Julio Martín Gómez, from the Commission for Ecumenical Dialogue; and Jalid Nieto, representative of the Seville Mosque Foundation participated on behalf of the three monotheistic religions, and in their speeches they highlighted the value of fraternity and solidarity between cultures and religions as pillars of a richer and more plural society.
With this simple but symbolic act, the Three Cultures Foundation wanted to resume in some way the spirit of coexistence that for the last five years had been developed through the programme of activities 'Ramadan between cultures', which celebrated the holy month for the Muslim community in different meetings that brought together people of all religious denominations.
