The International Film Festival of Cinema and Common Memory of Nador (FICMEC), in its 6th edition, has chosen the Atlantic Ocean as the axis of its theme, widening its fields of perception and reflection, opening the dynamics of the two Mediterranean coasts, defined along the north-south axis, towards other imaginations, memories and stories that feed today's polycentric world. As a result, India, one of the great countries of the Indian Ocean, has been the guest of honour at this edition.

The Festival's scientific jury was composed of the actress Esther Regina, the filmmaker Rasmi Mahasana, the writer Mouna Hachin, the Iraqi academic Addelhussaim Shaaban and the film programmer of the Fundación Tres Culturas, Araceli Míguez.

The Fundación Tres Culturas has established at the Festival, the Dialogue between Cultures Award which has been awarded to the documentary The Fabulous Casablanca by Manu Horrillo.
