8 March is International Women's Day, a day of recognition for generations of women who fought and continue to fight for equality, justice and peace. The Fundación Tres Culturas joins the claim to make this a fairer world and to put an end to the inequalities that still persist in our society.
This institution works for a new social model where dialogue and cooperation give rise to values of harmony, encounter and coexistence that eradicate the patriarchal and sexist vision that relegates women to second place. Progress in women's rights and freedoms requires real equality that translates into effective co-responsibility between men and women in the family, work, political and social spheres.
Today, March 8th, the Fundación Tres Culturas joins the International Women's Strike, called in more than 40 countries by feminist and human rights organisations to denounce both the unequal distribution of employment, care work, access to wealth, and to demand an end to sexist violence.
The staff of the Fundación Tres Culturas will observe five minutes of silence at 12:00 noon at the door of its headquarters.
