Yesterday, the director of the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation signed an agreement with José Luis García MartínEighth Deputy Mayor for the Government Area of Neighbourhoods of Preferential Attention, Social Rights, Employment, Family, Equality and Associations of the Seville City Councilto further advance the programme Seville, Land of Diversity.
This programme, developed by the Fundación Tres Culturas with the backing and funding of the Seville City Council, aims to promote the intercultural coexistence in the city, especially in neighbourhoods such as The MacarenaThe European Union is an example of diversity and mutual respect between people of different backgrounds, traditions and religions.
Through art, education, music and sport, Seville, Land of Diversity seeks to generate meeting and learning spaces promoting awareness of the positive value of cultural diversity, with special attention to children and young people.
Among the most outstanding initiatives of the current edition are:

II Festival 'Seville, Land of Diversity'.held on 4 October in the Parque de los Perdigones.

Passport to Interculturality'.an educational project aimed at raising awareness among kindergarten and primary schoolchildren of the values of coexistence.

Introductory course to Spanish for immigrantsdeveloped together with the Don Bosco Foundation in the Polígono Sur.

Travelling programme 'Sounds of Seville: a journey through diversity'.with concerts in different neighbourhoods of the city.

Intercultural Sports School La Macarena (EDIM)currently in preparation, aimed at young female players from the neighbourhood.
With the renewal of this agreement, the Fundación Tres Culturas and the Seville City Council reaffirm their common commitment to a city that celebrates coexistence, inclusion and the richness of its cultural diversity.
