Arabic and Modern Hebrew classes return to the Fundación Tres Culturas with a new lease of life

On 13 October, the Fundación Tres Culturas will resume one of the most successful activities of its academic offer, which has been one of its hallmarks since 2005: the Arabic and Modern Hebrew courses, which return to the institution's headquarters after being interrupted due to the State of Alarm.

To this end, the Foundation has reinvented its own spaces (the former Moroccan Pavilion at Expo'92 allows for this, given its size and the multiplicity of rooms), and has set up classrooms for these languages in areas that allow for safe distances and regular ventilation. This is the case of the so-called multimedia room, located on the same floor as the entrance to the headquarters, with capacity for 80 people in normal conditions; or the upper gallery of the building, located on the first floor, with large windows and excellent luminosity.

 

This is in addition to a action protocol which takes into account all the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of students and workers of the Foundation itself, such as the obligatory use of masks, the establishment of safety distances, the continuous cleaning and disinfection of both installations and furniture and the ventilation of spaces, among other measures.

In addition, and depending on how events evolve with respect to COVID-19, it is envisaged that the teaching may be complemented in a non face-to-face manner, specifically through the Google Classroom platform.

The aim of all these measures is to provide students with a suitable environment for the times in which to resume their classes, both Arabic and Modern Hebrew, courses that are adapted to different learning levels (four per language at present) and for which enrolment can now be formalised. In previous years, these classes have been attended by an average of 65-75 students each year in total, and for weeks now, the Foundation's technicians have been receiving enquiries, which shows that this trend will continue in the future.
