From 13 March, Tres Culturas will be hosting a series of conferences-colloquiums entitled Women for a Possible Worldbrings together women who have distinguished themselves for their work in promoting women's rights.  

The Councillor for Equality and Social Welfare, Micaela Navarro Garzón, inaugurated the series on 13 March, the day on which the talk-colloquium was given by Aminata Traoré, the main driving force behind the first World Social Forum held in Africa, former Minister of Culture of Mali, UN consultant, activist, community leader and writer.

On Tuesday 20 March we have the Algerian writer Habiba Djahnine, author of several articles published in France and Algeria. In 2003 she published a collection of poetry entitled Beyond death. He also made a documentary film entitled Letter to my sister dedicated to his sister Nabila Djahnine, a well-known women's leader who was assassinated in Algeria in 1995.

 The cycle closes on Tuesday 27th with the presence of Amparo Rubiales, current member of the Advisory Council of the High Court of Justice, lawyer, has held various positions in Spanish politics and Edith Cresson, French politician, the first woman to hold the position of Head of Government in France. 

Women for a possible world revolves around the role of women in current political, social and cultural affairs. The aim of the cycle is to promote knowledge and understanding of the different messages that, through literature, research, the media, etc., have an impact on the projection of women in all spheres. It will also explore the social changes that women promote from an artistic and humanist perspective through their activism and social commitment.
