New agreement between the Three Cultures Foundation and the Ministry Delegate for Moroccans Residing Abroad and Migration Affairs

The director of the Three Cultures Foundation, José Manuel Cervera, and El Habib Nadir, secretary general (representing the minister) of the Ministry Delegate in charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad and Migration Affairs, signed a new collaboration agreement today in Rabat, which continues and strengthens the strategic partnership programme between these two institutions.

The guidelines of this agreement include raising public awareness of current issues such as interculturality and coexistence; promoting studies on the phenomenon of migration in the Mediterranean area; highlighting the value of the common cultural heritage between the two shores; promoting the participation of Moroccans living abroad in different activities, especially those related to migration, cooperation and socioeconomic development; and promoting dialogue, peace, tolerance and coexistence; encouraging the participation of Moroccans living abroad in different activities, especially those related to migration, cooperation and socio-economic development; and promoting dialogue, peace, tolerance and coexistence between cultures and religions through mutual knowledge and the exchange of ideas and experiences.

To this end, different actions are planned for 2018 and 2019, such as the launch of a study on migratory flows and the situation of unaccompanied foreign minors in the Strait of Gibraltar and the organisation of an international meeting on media and migration. Likewise, all activities of a social and cultural nature will be promoted that have an impact on the value of diversity, as well as educational proposals (language training, for example) for Moroccans living in Andalusia.

Special attention will be paid this year to WOCMES Seville 2018, the largest congress on the Middle East and North Africa organised by Tres Culturas from 16 to 22 July, in which Morocco will have a prominent place, as this opportunity will be used to showcase the cultural and artistic wealth of this country.

This agreement was signed during the Spanish-Moroccan Forum on Immigration and Integration, which is taking place in Rabat today and tomorrow, where the Fundación Tres Culturas presented an audiovisual presentation on the results of this joint partnership. In addition, the director of this institution, José Manuel Cervera, took part in the first session 'Living together: for a shared responsibility and an ethics of citizenship'.
