Within the framework of the 51st annual meeting of the MESA association, which will take place between 18 and 21 November, part of the Tres Culturas team in charge of organising the fifth edition of the WOCMES international congress, which will be held in Seville between 16 and 22 July 2018, will be responsible for presenting and promoting it to the congress participants and guests of the prestigious association.
The Middle East Studies Association (MESA) is a private, non-profit society that brings together scholars, educators and interested individuals from around the world to study the region. MESA is primarily concerned with the area encompassing Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Israel, Pakistan and the countries of the Arab world. Other regions, such as Spain, Southeastern Europe, China and the former Soviet Union, are also included for periods when their territories were under the influence of Near Eastern civilisation.
At the meeting, which will be held at the Wardman Park Hotel, among the more than 230 academic sessions and events on the programme, the Fundación Tres Culturas will have the opportunity to promote the WOCMES congress to an audience of experts, potential participants in next year's event in Seville.
The members of the International Advisory Board of WOCMES - which meets in the framework of the meeting - will also be informed of the progress in the preparation of the congress, both in its academic and cultural aspects.
