The Fundación Tres Culturas collaborates with the Fundación Juventud y Cultura, hosting at its headquarters the performance of the theatre play I'm not staying here. The play, which was performed by the theatre company Tararí que te ví, is part of the European project NICER, which aims to achieve the integration of refugees through theatre.
The performance, directed by Paco G. Melero, features refugee and Spanish participants who have created scenes, texts, music and rhythms with the aim of turning drama into comedy by telling what they have lived through.
"No one flees without feeling in danger; flight is not a pleasure trip; getting to safety is not a bed of roses; you flee to where you can; anyone who flees to a safe haven needs comfort, new relationships, a friendly environment; danger can stalk anyone," the company says.
The end of I'm not staying here depends on each of the people who see it. Following the same process as the actors, the spectators must answer: what do I feel, think, do when I see people arriving in my surroundings who are fleeing from danger? It is sure to have a happy ending.
