The Three Cultures Foundation is organising, in collaboration with Tel Aviv University, the international seminar Arabs and Jews in the Americas, to be held at the Foundation's headquarters on 22 and 23 June 2010.
The aim of this meeting (the third in the series of seminars held jointly with the aforementioned University) is to bring those attending closer to the repercussions on the Arab and Jewish communities established in Latin America following the migratory flow at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. This will be the culmination of the work of the previous cycles, held in Tel Aviv in 2007, and in Buenos Aires and Cordoba in 2008.
To this end, leading international participants will discuss at the Foundation's headquarters the processes of integration and development of these communities in Latin American countries, their religious and cultural similarities and differences, as well as the reactions of the local populations. Given that in no case are these communities homogeneous from a cultural, religious or socio-economic point of view, or in terms of their demographic composition and development, it is necessary to carry out an analysis focused on the evolution and trajectory of specific communities.
