On Thursday 5 May, the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo will be taking part in Barcelona in the international seminar: Geopolitical shifts and domestic dynamics in the Middle East and North Africa, organised by CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs). The event will mark the launch of the MENARA project, a three-year project financed by the European Commission within the H-2020 framework, and which CIDOB itself is co-leading.
The meeting, which will include the participation of 14 international institutions such as the Istituto Affari Internationale, the London School of Economics, the Midlle East Institute in Washington and the universities of Qatar and Georgetown, will be organised around various roundtables on internal changes, regional fragmentation, links with major global trends and the positioning of different international actors, especially the European Union, in the MENA region. On the other hand, the emergence of new leaderships, regional alliances and the overlapping of errors that will surely shape the region in the coming decades will be debated.
