Next Wednesday, the Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with the Diputación de Cádiz and the magazine M'Sur, presents the latest issue of the magazine Caleta en su terraza, a monographic issue dedicated to Mediterranean literature.
In this new issue, Caleta magazine offers a broad and plural overview of current Mediterranean literature, taking care to strike a balance between the different countries and languages. The texts appear in bilingual versions in most cases. There is a notable representation of women, as well as an accentuated presence of new voices, who share a summary with other established writers. The special booklets are dedicated respectively to Sicily and to José Manuel Caballero Bonald's Cuaderno de Túnez.
The purpose of the magazine coincides with the line of work of the Fundación Tres Culturas and is to raise awareness of the literature being written today in the Mediterranean, a production that is largely unknown to the general public in Spain, sometimes even to the most constant readers. Breaking down the prejudices surrounding these authors, revealing valuable names and, in short, encouraging people to continue to scrutinise this horizon are the missions that those responsible for this endeavour have set themselves with this endeavour.
