The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation is launching 'Three with books in movement', an initiative that represents a new twist to its traditional reading club, one of the most consolidated proposals of the Fatima Mernissi library, with a hundred works analysed and meetings with more than 80 authors since 2009.

This club enjoys significant public support, both in the book presentations open to all interested parties and in the sessions closed to club members (with an extensive waiting list to gain access).

In addition, it has become the backbone for other reading clubs in various institutions in Spain and Morocco, which it provides with batches of works that have already been analysed in Tres Culturas, thus continuing to disseminate Mediterranean literature among already consolidated groups of readers.

This is how the Foundation's batches of travelling books were born, which will now continue to carry their stories to the new clubs that will be generated in this new 'on the move' modality. The idea is to export the successful model of Three with books and create their own reading clubs wherever other entities request them, receiving advice from the Foundation, which, in addition to sending the copies, will take care of the follow-up and dynamisation of the sessions.

On the other hand, it is an à la carte club, designed according to the needs of those who wish to join it. This is the case of the first club that will inaugurate this project: the Tres con libros club at IES Sierra de Aras, in the town of Lucena in the province of Cordoba, whose members will be the teachers of this school. With them, a club has been designed to meet their needs (with reading sessions during breaks) and with an exceptional work to kick it off: Sweet song (Cabaret Voltaire), the novel for which the writer Leila Slimani was awarded the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 2016.

In addition, the Foundation is already in contact with those responsible for the next club to join this initiative, in the Public Library of Cartaya, a town in Huelva with a diverse and plural population from many countries.

The Fundación Tres Culturas encourages all those interested in becoming part of this reading movement to apply via the following e-mail address biblioteca@tresculturas.orgThey will specify which group they belong to, what their motivations and preferences are for delving into Mediterranean literature, and how they would like their own 'Three with books' to be constituted.
