Interreg Volunteering Youth is a new proposal of the European Union to promote the mobility of unemployed young people and their incorporation into the labour market through close cooperation in INTERREG projects with the beneficiary institutions.

The Fundação Três Culturas do Mediterrâneo has supported this initiative from the moment of its publication and, after making a selection, the young Portuguese Dr. Tiago Pinho joined the INTREPIDA project in November 2017, continuing with Dr. Ricardo Monteiro de Coimbra, a law graduate, and Dr. Bérenice Pereira da França, a graduate in communication. Since last September we have had Dr. Giulia Calibeo on board the INTREPIDA project.

Giulia Calibeo, aged 26, comes from the city of Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy. She holds a degree in Political and International Sciences from the Italian University of Teramo. Recently, as an IVY POCTEP volunteer, Giulia participated in an initiative promoted by WWF and the European Commission for the reforestation of an area of the Doñana National Park in Huelva, where a call for attention on environmental problems was made. The tree planting was shared with other young people from programmes such as INTERACT and members of DG REGIO (European Commission).
