The Three Cultures Foundation collaborates, once again, in the expedition. Connecting CulturesThe Sultanate of Oman, an exciting adventure through the desert of the Sultanate of Oman for the coexistence, dialogue and understanding of young people from Arab and Western countries.

The aim of this experience is to promote and debate on the dialogue of cultures between East and West, the knowledge of other realities, the promotion of human rights and the enhancement of diversity. Since 2008, the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo has been promoting this initiative, which is gaining increasing international support.

Established in the Sultanate of Oman, Connecting Cultures works in close collaboration with the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science. This programme is formally endorsed by UNESCO and supported by the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Centre and the MBI Al Jaber Foundation.

Since the creation of the project Connecting CulturesSixteen expeditions have taken place in Oman. Each of them involved eighteen young people, nine from the Arab States and nine from Europe.

Three expeditions to Wahiba Sands in the desert of Oman will take place between December 2013 and February 2014. Each of the expeditions, two of them composed of girls and the other one of boys, will be based on the basic axes that inspire the project Connecting CulturesThe aim of the project is to promote cultural diversity and break down stereotypes, identifying the common values of different cultures around the world by living together with young people from different countries.

The first expedition for girls will take place from 7 to 11 December 2013, and the second will be held from 1 to 5 February 2014, also for girls. The boys' expedition will take place from 10 to 15 January 2014.

Through the corresponding selection process, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation will select one participant for each of these three expeditions. The applicants, aged between 18 and 25, must have an advanced knowledge of English and be in good physical shape, a necessary condition to take part in an expedition that takes place in the middle of the desert.

In order to participate in the selection of candidates, it is essential to present the documentation that can be found in the Bases of the call and annexes. Annex C is only for the two calls addressed to girls.
