A delegation from the Three Cultures Foundation meets in Rabat with the new minister Nezha El Ouafi

José Manuel Cervera and Carmen Fernández-Távora, Director and Deputy Director of this institution, recently travelled to Rabat accompanied by Enrique Millo, Secretary General for External Action of the Andalusian Regional Government, to hold a meeting with the new Minister Delegate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Resident Abroad, Nezha El Ouafi.

André Azoulay, president of the Three Cultures Foundation and advisor to the King of Morocco, chaired this meeting, which was also attended by Ricardo Díez Hotchleiner, Spanish ambassador to Morocco and member of the Tres Culturas Board of Trustees.

During the meeting, which took place at the Royal Palace, the Tres Culturas delegation had the opportunity to present to the new minister the work carried out over the institution's twenty years of existence, to present the lines of action for the coming year and to establish the basis for future joint projects and initiatives.

Both parties have renewed a biennial collaboration agreement to continue developing the project. Alqantara, bridges for dialogue and coexistenceaimed at strengthening cultural ties between the two countries, with a special focus on improving the living conditions of Moroccans living in Andalusia.

Minister El Ouafi has highly valued the work of the Foundation, describing it as essential for the purposes of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and communication between Europe and Morocco.

In this regard, Minister El Ouafi expressed her intention to broaden the horizons of collaboration between the two institutions, extending the work of the Fundación Tres Culturas not only to the rest of Europe, but also to other Spanish-speaking countries where there is also a significant Moroccan presence.

On the other hand, the deadlines for the rehabilitation project of the Hassan II Pavilion, the emblematic headquarters of this Foundation, have been specified. In the coming months, work will be carried out on the building, the former Moroccan pavilion at Expo'92, thanks to the extraordinary grant provided by the Moroccan ministry.

For his part, the Secretary General for External Action reiterated the support of the Andalusian Regional Government for the Foundation and the work it carries out in strengthening Andalusia-Morocco relations.
