The Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with Casa África and Capitan Swing, is hosting the presentation of the essay The hymen and the hijab: why the Arab world needs a sexual revolution, by the Egyptian journalist Mona Eltahawy, who will be accompanied by Ángeles Jurado, journalist and communications technician at Casa África.

At The hymen and the hijabEltahawy makes a definitive condemnation of the repressive forces - political, cultural and religious - that reduce millions of women to the status of second-class citizens.

Regular contributor to media such as The Guardian, The New York Times o BBC, In November 2011, she was arrested, beaten and raped by riot police in her own country. She was appointed by Newsweek as one of its "150 brave women of 2012".
