The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo and CODENAF are organising on 22 November at 16.30h, the meeting 'Dismantling rumours about immigration' at the headquarters of the Foundation, within the framework of the project Plan de Integración y Cohesión Ciudadana del Colectivo Inmigrante, subsidised by the Ministry of Employment and Social Security and co-financed by the FAMI Fund, and in collaboration with Fundación Tres Culturas and the Red Anti-Rumores (Anti-Rumour Network).
Two theoretical-practical training actions have been programmed under the name: Islamophobia Prevention and Intervention'. y Strategies, tools and resources for dismantling a rumour'.The aim is to provide participants, through a dynamic and participatory methodology, with the key elements to learn about the main rumours surrounding Islam and Muslim people, how they originate and spread hoaxes and urban legends related to immigration and the Muslim community, as well as how to combat them in different social contexts.
The theoretical-practical contents will be based on conceptualising prejudices, stereotypes and rumours, facilitating the strategies, instruments and communication skills to dismantle them.
In order to enrich this meeting as much as possible, participants will be introduced to the initiative Anti-Rumours Network' in Andalusiapromoted by the Directorate General for the Coordination of Migration Policies, under the Regional Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, with the aim of facilitating the adhesion of the participants to it, on a voluntary basis, so that they can participate in the whole fabric of collaboration and synergies established between its members at regional level.
