We share impressions after reading Luísa Sobral's first novel Not all trees die standing up. / Not all trees die standing up.
Following an encounter with the Portuguese singer-songwriter, writer, and entrepreneur Luís Sobral, we invite you to include their debut novel in your reading list: Not all trees die standing up. (Lunwerg-Planeta) translated into Spanish by Rosa Martínez Alfaro from the original Portuguese work Not all trees die standing up (Don Quixote – LeYa).
You will be able to join a discussion session about the book, along with other people from different book clubs who have approached the work in one of the two languages in which it is currently available: Portuguese and Spanish. With this initiative, the INTREPIDA project supports the European Union's commitment to promoting linguistic and cultural diversity, fostering knowledge of the different languages of the European space as a way of strengthening unity through diversity and respect. Languages not only shape people's identities but also constitute a common heritage that deserves to be shared and preserved.
Se trata de un espacio abierto para compartir cómo hemos vivido y entendido una misma historia. Además, en esta ocasión contaremos en persona con Rosa Martínez Alfaro, traductora de portugués a español de esta obra. Y de manera telemática, con Aránzazu Sumalla, editora ejecutiva en Lunwerg (Grupo Planeta), editorial encargada de lanzar la novela en España.
We want to hear your impressions along with those of the participating book club members at this INTREPID meeting: Three with Books coordinated by Olga Cuadrado and Gemma Arcos from the Three Cultures Foundation Library, Portuguese Language Reading Club coordinated by Professor Conceição Silva from the Infanta Elena Public Library in Seville and Generating readings, from the María Zambrano Documentation Centre of the Andalusian Women's Institute (IAM), coordinated by Anabel Fernández Moreno.
With this activity we celebrate 15 years of the Interreg Day of Cooperation. The INTREPIDA pro project belongs to the Interreg Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) program and has European funding.
