14 July, published by Tusquets, tells the story of the storming of the Bastille from the point of view of its real protagonists, anonymous people driven by hunger, unease and the shortage of essentials.

The writer goes back a few months to recount the rebellion of the Réveillon factory workers, whose wages were cut, and whose bloody repression caused more deaths than those of 14 July. Vuillard also dwells on what life was like at the court of Versailles, as well as the economic and social background to the uprising. But above all, he follows, in a lyrical and brilliant way, the vicissitudes of individuals without rights who convulsed an archaic regime to give a new meaning to history.

This book will be presented by the author himself on Thursday 21 February. in the company of writer and journalist Alejandro Luque.
