During the month of July, the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo is hosting 'Passport to interculturality', an educational cycle consisting of two sessions, the first of which was held on 17 July. This initiative is part of the project Seville Land of Diversityfunded by Seville City Council and developed in collaboration with the CaixaProinfancia programme.
The conference brought together students from the second cycle of primary education in Seville, from the following organisations Cepaim Foundation, Entre Amigos de Sevilla Association, ECCA Social Foundation and Sevilla Acoge Foundation.. Participants enjoyed a dynamic educational experience focused on interculturality and cultural diversity, through didactic activities and scenic proposals adapted to their age.
The programme included:
The souk of the three seals': a gymkhana that promotes historical and cultural knowledge of the three cultures that coexisted on the Iberian Peninsula. The activity places special emphasis on the importance of combating prejudices and stereotypes through knowledge, bringing schoolchildren closer to values such as respect, coexistence and intercultural dialogue. This proposal was presented by the Engranajes Culturales collective, renowned for its work in promoting intercultural dialogue through participatory activities.
Africa, the origin': an educational show that shows the variety of cultures, music and instruments of the African continent through the experience of travelling musicians. Through their stories and songs, the Gurumbé company transmits the most positive values of African music.
The day left a positive mark on the schoolchildren, who participated with enthusiasm and curiosity in each activity, opening new windows to understanding and respect between cultures. With a programme that combines learning with creativity, 'Passport to interculturality' is consolidated as an inspiring and enriching educational proposal that invites to discover other cultures based on respect and coexistence.
