The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, under the patronage of the Ministry in charge of Moroccan Communities Residing Abroad and Migration Affairs in the framework of the programme 'Alqantara: bridges for dialogue and coexistence', which aims to address the major debates in the Mediterranean area today, is organising the Three Festivals, voices of the MediterraneanThe event will bring together leading writers from all over the Mediterranean coast on 28, 29 and 30 April 2016 in the city of Granada.

The fascinating condition of the Mediterranean as a cultural crossroads - derived from geographical coordinates that make it a place of encounter and exchange between East and West, North and South - has contributed to the fact that, since ancient times, literature has actively created its own, genuine imaginary.

It is precisely now, at a time of inequality, confrontation and marginalisation, that progress is needed for a better coexistence in this rich and diverse region. And culture, in its different forms and manifestations, such as literature, must be the fundamental factor for this necessary progress.

The Tres Festival, voices of the Mediterranean aims to be a milestone on the path that will allow man to be freer. Authors such as Nawal El-Saadawi, Buket Uzuner, Almudena Grandes and Abraham B. Yehoshua will meet at the event in Granada to contribute from their literary experience to this path of understanding and freedom.
