INTREPIDA Rendezvous with Art: Graça Pereira Coutinho's exhibition 'Feeling the Earth'.

The INTREPIDA plus project coordinated by the Fundación Tres Culturas offers us a month of October full of activities and initiatives.

From mid-October until 16 November we will be showing the exhibition 'Feeling the Earth', by the Portuguese artist Graça Pereira Coutinho, whose work is made up of different means of expression, including painting, sculpture, photography and installation.

This Portuguese artist, trained at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes in Lisbon and at St. Martins School of Art in London, places herself within the framework of conceptual art and is inspired by Eva Hesse and Agnes Martin. His works are mainly composed of fragile and ephemeral materials that he obtains directly from nature (such as wood, earth, sand, water, straw, etc.) and that he handles in an unconventional way, mixing them with other materials such as rope, fabric, plastic and glass. He is concerned with the relationship between art and life, and his work is divided into different themes dedicated to subjects such as nature, landscape, the vestiges of human presence in the past, etc.

This exhibition, entitled Feeling the Earth, is curated by the Portuguese artist Cristina Ataide. Both artists have collaborated on various projects and are currently two of the most internationally renowned women artists in Portugal, where they live regularly.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on 15 October at 7 p.m. with a guided tour for a small group of people accompanied by the artist and the exhibition curator. Prior registration is essential at THIS LINK.
