The Fundación Tres Culturas presents the results of the CARPET project at its headquarters, after having already visited Lisbon in Portugal and Asilah in Morocco.
In Seville, this exhibition will be presented with a meeting between a group of 60 children and some of the artists who were in residence in other countries as part of this project: Othmane Laqehili, Marta de Pablos, Pilar Saenz and Armando Rabadán. For their part, our young guests are taking part in the summer camps organised in Seville by GDS education and leisure with a long experience and where activities related to the plastic arts are included.
The CARPET twist shows works by Hamza El Fasiki, Sara Meli Melo, Estela Melo, Overlap, Marta de Pablos, Armando Rabadán and Anne Williams who have already been in artistic residence, followed by the Moroccan artist Ahlem who will come to Seville and the Spanish potter Marco Terranova who will travel to Fez soon. Along with the results of the different projects of these artists and artisans in residence, collective works are exhibited that have involved the participation of citizens from different countries, such as the action From Seville with love or the installation CARPET hyperlink.
Among the pieces on display are the interventions of the artists DEBAGA, Ana Langeheldt and Sadik Haddari, who have worked directly on layers made by the Portuguese company BIOCO TRADITION. Also noteworthy is the interaction between the illustrator SBIMBO and the ceramist Antonia Jaén. These gestures of rapprochement between different disciplines show the interest of this project in expanding the possibilities of connection between contemporary art, craftsmanship and participation in the creative work.

The CARPET project is coordinated by the Fundación Tres Culturas together with partners Creative Kernow in England, CEARTE in Portugal and APDN in Morocco. This project is financially supported by the European Creative Europe programme.
