From Seville with Love. Flying CARPET

Flying CARPET begins its actions in the framework of the celebration of the World Wide Knitting Day 2018, which has been celebrated in Seville for some years now as an impulse from the South District of the City Council and the company Andoliando, through Juana Román.

From the CARPET (Craft Art and People Together) project, the activities that the Fundación Tres Culturas has designed to encourage citizens to take part in creative and social actions are:

 

Weavers in action

We are looking for volunteer weavers who, for two days - two hours each (to be agreed with each centre), can be with a group of people belonging to groups who for various reasons are unable to participate in cultural or social activities in the city.

In this way, the weavers will help to create a link for the chain that we will set up between 7 May and 7 June in the Prado de San Sebastián for World Public Knitting Day 2018.

 

Workshop free of charge to learn and/or improve your weaving skills. 23 May and 6 June at the Fundación Tres Culturas, at 18:00.

Weavers of the heart

The weavers of the Muelle de la Sal - next to the Triana bridge - (#tejedorasmuelledelasal) will be in charge of weaving a heart that will later be continued in other countries until it reaches a size of approximately 1.80 centimetres. Date: 7 June, at 18:30.

 

Weavers in love

Activity in collaboration with the celebration of the World Day of Knitting in Public organised annually by the South District of Seville City Council and Andoliando. Meeting of all the people who wish to weave a link to form a chain that will be taken to other countries to continue weaving and that will be installed in different public places.

On 9 June 2018. Place: Prado de San Sebastián, from 10.00 to 14:00.
