The most veteran and awarded correspondent of a Spanish media in the Middle East gives us the opportunity, thanks to his editorial novelty The Beirut Ferris Wheel. Tomás Alcoverro is the correspondent for La Vanguardia in the Middle East since 1970, making him the doyen of his class. Based in Beirut, he has been an eyewitness to the turmoil in the troubled region. He has lived through its wars and met its leaders, all of which he has chronicled in more than 8,000 articles for his newspaper. He has been awarded the Encomienda de Isabel la Católica and the Creu de Sant Jordi, and has won the Godó, Gaziel, Ortega y Gasset, Vázquez Montalbán and Cirilo Rodríguez journalism prizes. He is the author of numerous books, such as The Dean. From Beirut to Baghdad: 30 Years of Chronicles, The story from my balcony o Why Damascus?
